Job Description
Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC), local provider of blood products to your community hospitals, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader and committed community partner, to join our organization and leadership team, as Manager, Donor Relations.  In this position, you will work with dedicated team members who actively partner with local businesses, schools, churches and civic organizations to support our mission by sponsoring blood drives to provide lifesaving blood products to the hospitals and communities we serve. 

In this role, the Manager accomplishes sales/territory goals and leads the Springfield and Urbana teams by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards.

We are looking for an energetic sales management professional who is able to effectively multitask, at times offer quick and accurate advice, as well as, provide creative and consistent input to return progressive territory development.

The Manager will be a source of inspiration, genuinely believe in the mission of our organization, make an impactful first and lasting impression, and is instrumental in safeguarding contributory community partnerships.

Ideal Candidate should have:
  • Demonstrated experience as a sales team(s) leader and territory development
    • Able to coordinate and track progress
    • Execute planning and/or partnerships during peak-seasonal needs
  • Personal record of successful sales
    • 3-5 years proven results
  • Strong people and leadership skills
    • Humble Motivator
    • Proven relationship builder
    • Effective communicator both verbally and written
  • Willingness to learn
    • Must be able to lead tenured employees towards success while learning the industry and organizational practices
  • Skill set and experience which support mission driven and volunteer based work
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field preferred; combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Ability to travel within Blood Center territory and possess a valid driver’s license, as well as the ability to be insurable by MVRBC
  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule based around a first shift position.  Position may require possible evening, weekend and/or extended travel supporting business needs throughout our service territories, attending community events and networking as needed for market growth and representation.
