DESCRIPTION:Join the Kickoff Celebration for the 2nd Annual 1\,000 Women Strong-Habitat Sangamon campaign to bring women together to fund and build a Habitat home in Spring 2019. Invite your freinds and learn more about the many ways to get involved. Building is optional\, but women of all skills are welcome to build and learn to the best of their ability and interest. \n\nBetween March and June 2018\, women of all ages built House #108\, the first 1000 Women Strong-Habitat Sangamon home\, with Habitat Partner Family Sharrell and her two sons. From framing walls to installing drywall\, women came together to learn\, empower and do it all!\n\nThe idea behind the campaign is simple: 1\,000 women giving $100 each provides the funding needed to construct a Habitat house. Once funding is secured\, we build together. No one is required to build\, but if you want to join the construction crew\, skilled Habitat volunteers are on site to help you learn.\n\nNew for 2019\, the first 600 women to join will receive a 2x4 stud to decorate. These studs will be used to construct the house. Decorating get-togethers and a Stud-o-Rama reveal party\, once the studs are installed\, will also be held.\n\nFor more information about 1\,000 Women Strong-Habitat Sangamon or to RSVP for the kickoff on October 4\, contact Shayne Squires at 217-523-2710\, ext. 222 or ssquires@habitatsangamon.com.
