DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a beverage from our concession stand while experiencing skilled local artists sharing their work in the intimate UIS Studio Theatre.  These short events will leave you with time for dinner afterwards to make for a great date night!\n\nIn Partnership with UIS Music\n\nPercussionist Brant Roberts will showcase the wide range of styles and sounds that can only come from percussion instruments. This concert will feature music from around the world and tell the stories of different locations through sound. Brant will feature music ranging from classical to contemporary and finish the performance with vibraphonist Matthew Miller in a Latin-Jazz Duo.\n\nBrant Roberts is a freelance percussionist and music educator finishing his doctorate in percussion performance and literature at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign while also teaching at the University of Illinois Springfield. Roberts has performed with many orchestras and accompanied modern dance performance at the university and professional level. A strong advocate for new music and contemporary performance\, Roberts premiered a new marimba work by Jiwon Hahn in April 2022 and has participated in the Nief-Norf Contemporary Music Festival.
