Description
Learn more about the new Chamber retirement benefit, Signature Fiduciary Connect. A formal presentation on the Illinois Secure Choice Program and different alternatives for your business will be given while attendees enjoy lunch, compliments of The Chamber, Bank of Springfield, and John Hancock.
Background
Illinois state law currently requires every Illinois employer with twenty-five or more full-time and/or part-time (FT/PT) employees to offer their own retirement program, either through a private plan or through Illinois Secure Choice, a retirement program offered through the Illinois State Treasurer’s office.
However, effective November 1, 2022, the law will be expanded to include employers with as few as sixteen (16) FT and/or PT employees. Employers who do not comply with the law will be subject to fines and penalties. Employers with five (5) or more FT and/or PT employees will be required to comply with the law effective November 1, 2023.
Regardless of what option is chosen, it is important to ensure your business complies with this new law. The Chamber has researched alternatives for its members, and has established a member benefit option that offers small to mid-size companies a simple, flexible and easy to administer plan.
To provide members with information about this alternative, several in-person opportunities are scheduled. There is no cost to attend, and food will be provided free of charge. RSVP's are strongly encouraged.
