About Us
Founded 150 years ago, Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is a Franciscan healthcare ministry operating 13 hospitals and multiple community-based health centers and clinics across Illinois and Wisconsin.
Locally, HSHS St. John's Hospital, HSHS St. John's Children's Hospital and multiple primary, specialty and cardiovascular HSHS Medical Group clinics deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to Springfield and the region.
Together, our colleagues ensure each patient who enters our system has access to high-quality care delivered through integrated technologies while also connecting the whole person to health and wellness programs that allow them to get back to their family and community. We are also educating the future healthcare professionals through HSHS St. John’s College of Nursing, the oldest Catholic hospital-based nursing school in the United States.
By leveraging the latest technology, emphasizing the importance of relationships, and living our values through community benefit and outreach programs that total over $100 million a year, HSHS continues to make a positive difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve.
