Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance

Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance (part of Illinois WorkNet Center) provides a variety of services for job seekers, businesses, and the community. For employers specifically, their team can help with on-the-job training for new hires, build custom training to help your team get up to speed on new technologies or procedures, and provide upskilling services to your current team, increasing your company’s competitive edge. These programs also help reduce barriers like transportation, tool purchase, and other requirements for employees to be successful. Some of these programs even qualify for reimbursement of employee wages to help businesses save money.

Their office can also provide resources and personalized guidance to help you launch a registered apprenticeship at your business. Apprenticeships help you build a sustainable pipeline of qualified talent; they provide the opportunity for individuals to begin building a career and learning skills while getting paid. This format of education has traditionally proven incredibly successful in the traditional skilled trade industry but is evolving and growing in other industries. Some apprenticeships developed through the WorkNet Center may even qualify for employer tax credits.

Michelle Brookens is the LLWA Business Services Coordinator and can share more about all their resources. Visit their website at www.worknet20.org or email her at mbrookens@worknet20.org.
