Description
Central Illinois adults seeking to advance or change their career are invited to Benedictine University?s National Moser Center for Adult Learning informational open house on Wednesday, June 22, from 5:30 ? 7:00 p.m. at the Brinkerhoff Home on the BenU campus, located at 1500 N. Fifth St. During the event, attendees can meet with an admissions counselor for an overview of adult programs and review program requirements. The accelerated format means students can earn a degree in two years or less. The National Moser Center offers evening and weekend classes taught by experts who are practicing professionals. Some programs employ Next Generation Learning ? an approach that utilizes highly interactive technology that allows for 24/7 remote learning. Incorporating new learning technologies delivers programs both efficiently and conveniently ? supporting the University its mission to provide adult students with affordable, attainable private higher education opportunities. The curriculum is values-based, hands-on and utilizes Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methods. PBL uses case studies, simulations, and ?authentic? contexts (such as one?s workplace or other relevant organizations) to apply what is learned in a Benedictine course toward something real and important in the student?s life. The learning method creates a framework that challenges students to develop information literacy skills to discern what they need to know about solving a problem, builds capacities for researching critical information, and applies the knowledge to help remedy real-world challenges. Graduates are prepared with practice and competencies to lead within their organizations or become innovative entrepreneurs ? all through the values-based lens of adding social significance that makes a difference.
