Description
Enjoy a beverage from our concession stand while experiencing skilled local artists sharing their work in the intimate UIS Studio Theatre. These short events will leave you with time for dinner afterwards to make for a great date night!
In partnership with UIS Music
Celebrating America’s artform, this collaborative duo will perform songs from the Great American Song Book, Jobim classics, and originals by jazz giants including Thelonius Monk, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, and more.
About the musicians:
Eli Naragon: From Pittsburg, PA, Eli Naragaon is a graduate student studying jazz bass performance with Prof. Larry Grey at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. While at UIUC, Eli serves a graduate teaching assistant, teaching lessons, running ensembles, and performing with jazz groups across the Midwest.
Adib Young: On faculty at the University of Illinois Springfield, Adib Young is a graduate student at the University of Illinois Champaign–Urbana. He is the teaching assistant for both Debra Richtmeyer and Chip McNeill, teaching both classical and jazz lessons and coaching ensembles.
