Illinois State Fair Giant Slide - Ribbon Cutting

The Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau will be hosting a ribbon cutting on Friday, August 12^th at the Giant Slide, inside the main gate of the Illinois State Fairgrounds.  This event will take place at 11 a.m. in celebration of the completion of the Route 66 shield on the Giant Slide. The $10 admission and parking do apply, but if you were planning on attending the fair sometime that day, they can mark your hand so you won’t have to pay admission again. They also want to encourage anyone that would like to go down the slide afterwards to feel free to do so! If you were planning on attending the fair that day, it would be a great start to your fair experience!
