Description
Ashley Dillingham - Clinical Trials Project Manager with Prairie Education and Research Cooperative
The Hardest Conversation - A Guide to Advance Directives and Communicating Your Care Preferences
Synopsis: This is one of those conversations most of us know we should have—but often avoid. Talking about future healthcare decisions can feel uncomfortable, yet not having those discussions can leave the people we love with uncertainty when it matters most. We’ll cover the essentials of advance directives and, more importantly, how to start meaningful, honest conversations about your wishes. Advance care planning isn’t just paperwork—it’s a gift of clarity and compassion to your family.
Bio: Ashley Dillingham is a licensed social worker and clinical research professional who currently serves as a clinical trials project manager with Prairie Education and Research Cooperative (PERC). She earned her bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology/Sociology and Religious Studies from Rhodes College, a Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee, and an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business & Technology.
Since 2011, Ashley has worked across the healthcare continuum—including home care, hospice, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings—in roles spanning direct care, outreach, leadership, and research. She is passionate about mission-driven work that aligns purpose with measurable impact and advances patient-centered outcomes and stronger communities.
