Bank of Springfield (BOS) has announced the appointment of Jennifer Gill to its Board of Directors, effective August 12, 2026.
Jennifer retired in June 2026 as superintendent from Springfield Public Schools District 186 with 35 years in public education. She is currently an educational consultant with Hazard Young Attea & Associates and serves as a Director of Academic Empowerment for the Illinois Association of School Administrators.
In addition to serving as District 186 superintendent, Jennifer was the Director of Teaching and Learning at McClean County Unit 5, Coordinator of Learning Supports K – 12 for Springfield Public Schools, Principal for McClernand and Vachel Lindsay Elementary School’s, Third Grade Teacher at Wanless Elementary, and Fifth Grade Teacher at Washington Elementary in Jacksonville District 117.
She currently serves on the Memorial Health Systems Board (2nd Vice President), the YMCA Board of Trustees, and is a member of the Illinois Association of School Administrators and American Association of School Administrators. Her prior board service includes Greater Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce (Chair 2019), United Way of Central Illinois, Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance – Economic Development, and Member of the Large United District Association (Chairs 2025 - 2026).

Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from University of Illinois Springfield, her Post Master’s Certificate in the Superintendent’s Endorsement Program at University of Illinois Springfield, and continued her doctoral coursework at Illinois State University. She and her husband Robin live in Springfield and have two children.
