The City of Springfield Public Works Department, in collaboration with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), will host a voucher-only residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, October 17, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Chamberlain Park, 319 McCreery Ave.
Because the event is being held in partnership with the IEPA, it is open to all Illinois residents. Residents must obtain a voucher from the City of Springfield’s Office of Public Works prior to participating. Vouchers will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
Residents must have their voucher available either in print or on a mobile device when arriving at the collection site. Participants must be Illinois residents, and the program is limited to residential households. Businesses and organizations are not eligible to participate.
Requesting a Voucher
Residents can request a voucher through the City of Springfield Office of Public Works by visiting:

Residents are encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as possible, as vouchers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Residents should arrive only during their predetermined collection time.
Participants should enter from Adams Street and follow posted signs and directions from traffic wardens to the parking lot. Vehicles will exit onto McCreery Avenue.
Important Reminder
A voucher is required to participate in the Household Hazardous Waste Collection event. Residents will not be permitted to drop off materials without a valid voucher.
