Community Foundation Announces Three Grant Opportunities and Employment Opening
SPRINGFIELD, IL — The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln is sharing several announcements of interest to local nonprofit organizations and residents.
Applications are currently being accepted for three grant programs supporting community needs and historic preservation, and the Community Foundation is seeking applicants for a full-time Grants and Scholarships Manager position.
Community Foundation Accepting Applications for Three Grant Programs
The Community Foundation is accepting grant applications for three funding opportunities: the Community Grants Program, Access to Recreation Fund, and CFLL Historic Preservation Fund.
Nonprofit organizations interested in applying can learn more about each grant opportunity and submit applications online at https://cfll.org/Grants-Scholarships/Grant-Deadlines-Applications. The application deadline for all three programs is midnight on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Community Grants Program
The Community Grants Program is an unrestricted grantmaking program that accepts funding requests for any charitable purpose benefiting Cass, Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan and/or Sangamon counties.
Multiple grants of up to $10,000 each will be awarded through the program, with applicants notified of funding decisions in September.
Access to Recreation Fund
Originally established through a challenge grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Access to Recreation Fund supports projects that expand accessible indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Foundation seeks creative programs and events that promote integrated recreation for people with and without disabilities and provide a positive impact on the broader community. Eligible projects may include theatrical performances, athletic or sporting events, health and fitness programs, and similar community activities.
Multiple grants totaling up to $6,000 are available, with individual requests not to exceed $3,000. Programs must primarily serve residents of Sangamon County.
CFLL Historic Preservation Fund
The CFLL Historic Preservation Fund assists nonprofit organizations with projects that preserve Springfield's historic resources.
Funding supports physical improvements to historic structures as well as projects that promote historic preservation in Springfield. Grants of up to $6,000 are available.
Community Foundation Hiring Grants and Scholarships Manager
The Community Foundation is also seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Grants and Scholarships Manager.
The Grants and Scholarships Manager will support the Foundation's grantmaking, scholarship, and community impact programs while helping steward charitable resources that benefit nonprofits, students, and communities throughout central Illinois.
