City Water, Light and Power’s newest water quality report is now online for viewing and available to customers, 2025 Water Quality Report In 2025, CWLP-produced drinking water met all USEPA and State of Illinois drinking water health standards and no violations of a contaminant level or any other water quality standard occurred. The information in the report also outlines the multiple levels of monitoring undertaken to evaluate the production of drinking water.
CWLP’s Water Division operates a 24-hour laboratory where chemists and plant operators consistently and continually monitor water quality throughout the treatment process to ensure that finished drinking water meets or exceeds all regulatory standards.
Details about where the water comes from, Lake Springfield, what it contains, and how it compares to standards set by the regulatory agencies are also included in the report https://www.cwlp.com/WQR2025).
