Local Organizations Host a Mother’s Day Tribute

Mother’s Day is a celebration of the mothers, grandmothers,
stepmothers, wives, children, and mother figures in our lives. Times for warmth and
togetherness in these observations can also bring challenges for those touched by grief
and loss.

In an effort to support people dealing with a difficult time, Butler Funeral Homes,
Roselawn Memorial Park, and Bisch Funeral Homes invite the community to a Mother's
Day Tribute on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. hosted at Roselawn Memorial Park — 1735
South Camp Butler Road, Springfield, IL.

This event is free and open to the public. No reservations are necessary. It will include a
brief ceremony led by on-staff, certified Celebrant, Judy Woerner, honoring all mothers
and the important roles they have played in our lives. Refreshments and a keepsake will
be provided in honor of your loved ones.

“As a mother, Mother’s Day is a special holiday for me, as it is for many people, but
dealing with loss can make it a difficult and overwhelming time to participate or to feel
left out.” says Katie Mendenhall Wilson, Location Manager and Funeral Director for
Butler Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center. “We hope this event promotes
healing and supports those who are hurting.”
