Mothers, grandmothers, wives, children, or other loved ones have lifted us up and touched our hearts and lives in countless ways. They are why Mother’s Day is such a special time to recognize and honor them. Yet for many of us, loss and grief are strong emotions on Mother’s Day, so the thought of celebrating — or not celebrating — can be daunting.

To acknowledge and help reconcile these feelings, the Butler Family of Organizations (Butler Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center, Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, Lincoln Land Cremation Society, and Roselawn Memorial Park) is hosting a Mother’s Day Remembrance Tribute on Saturday, May 10th, at Roselawn Memorial Park. The event, which is free and open to the public, will include a brief ceremony at 10:00 a.m. honoring all mothers and their important roles and contributions. Refreshments will be provided along with a tribute keepsake honoring your loved one.

“For some families, Mother’s Day can be filled with overwhelming emotions of grief and emptiness,” says Katie Mendenhall Wilson, location manager of the Butler Family of Organizations. “We want to help them honor their deceased mother. Our hope is that this event can help provide support and facilitate healing to hurting families struggling with loss on this day.”

Families with loved ones buried at all cemeteries are encouraged to attend and reflect on the special women in our lives that we have lost but will never forget.

Reservations are not necessary. Please call 217-544-4646 for additional information.
