The City of Springfield is advising motorists of several temporary street closures scheduled in October to accommodate track repairs by CNRR.
The following street closures are planned:
- 11th Street: Between Hazel Dell Road and Ernest Hemingway Drive, October 19–23, 2026.
- Laurel Street: Between Wirt Avenue and Johnson Park Drive, October 20–23, 2026.
- South Grand Avenue: Between 19th Street and Wheeler Avenue, October 26–30, 2026.
Detour routes will be posted for the affected areas. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and allow additional travel time while the closures are in effect.
Closure dates are subject to change depending on weather conditions and permitting.
The City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this work is completed.
