Each year, a number of Springfield families have trouble paying their basic household bills, and times can get tougher during the winter when home heating costs are added in. Through Project RELIEF, City Water, Light and Power customers can add $1 or more to their monthly CWLP bill, which will be routed as payment assistance to other Springfield families in need during the winter heating season. Last season, over $25,000 in donations were routed to help 111 families.
“Donating to Project RELIEF through your CWLP bill is an easy way to help out other Springfield families that are less fortunate,” said Doug Brown CWLP Chief Utility Engineer. “Through either a $1 add-on or another amount to their CWLP bill, customers can provide this much-needed assistance when household bills are running high.”
All funds that are received for Project RELIEF go directly to those in need, without any amount being used to cover administrative costs. Customers who wish to donate can use CWLP’s online form, https://www.cwlp.com/ServicesHome/ServicesInformation/ProjectRelief.aspx, or the form provided in all CWLP bills printed this month. Anyone could also opt to make a one-time donation of any amount by sending a check or money order to:
