Sara Rolando, Director of Operations for Medics First of Springfield, has been named a 2026 Star of Life by the American Ambulance Association (AAA), earning national recognition for her leadership, commitment to employee development and dedication to community health and safety.
The Stars of Life program honors ambulance professionals who go above and beyond in service to their communities and the emergency medical services profession. It is perhaps the highest honor an Emergency Medical Services provider can achieve.
Rolando oversees emergency medical response operations and non-emergency patient transportation for Medics First. She is recognized for her integrity, collaborative leadership and commitment to helping employees grow through coaching, mentorship and professional development.
Her community impact also includes supporting the Medics First AED Grant Program, which helps place automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in public spaces to strengthen communities’ readiness to respond to sudden cardiac arrest.
“Sara’s leadership makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our employees, our patients and the communities we serve,” said Greg Chance, CEO of Medics First. “She leads by example, invests in the success of others and continually looks for ways to strengthen our organization and improve community health and safety. This national recognition is well deserved, and we are proud to see her honored as a 2026 Star of Life.”
Rolando will join fellow honorees at the American Ambulance Association’s 2026 Stars of Life celebration in Washington, D.C., November 16–18.
