New Members

Lisa Schafer, Vice President of Operations, and David Earhart, Vice President - Member Services, have both announced their plans to retire during the first quarter of 2027.
Lisa will retire after more than 32 years of service to The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, while David will conclude a tenure of more than 23 years. Their combined 55-plus years of service represent an extraordinary commitment to The Chamber and the Greater Springfield business community.
The Chamber has benefited tremendously from Lisa and David’s leadership, dedication, and institutional knowledge. Over the years, there is virtually no Chamber program, event, or initiative they have not played a role in developing, supporting, or advancing. Their contributions have helped shape The Chamber into the organization it is today.
The Chamber will begin an immediate search for their successors. Our transition plan is to have the new team members in place by January 1, 2027, allowing them to work alongside Lisa and David throughout most, if not all, of the first quarter. This overlap will provide an important opportunity to transfer their extensive knowledge and experience while ensuring a smooth transition for our members, staff, and community partners.
While we will greatly miss Lisa and David’s daily presence, leadership, dedication, and knowledge of all things Chamber, we are incredibly grateful for everything they have done for the organization and our members.
After more than five decades of combined service to The Chamber, Lisa and David have certainly earned the opportunity to enjoy the next chapter of their lives. We thank them for their remarkable commitment and wish them both a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.
