The Springfield Area Arts Council (SAAC) is accepting applications for a full-time Program Director, a key role dedicated to leading some of the community’s most visible and impactful arts programming, including the Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series.

Originally established in 2025 to support the long-term sustainability of Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series, the Program Director position has quickly become central to SAAC’s ability to deliver free, accessible arts experiences to its service area of Sangamon and Menard counties. In addition to overseeing the 10-week summer music series, the role supports a range of year-round programs that connect residents and visitors to the arts.

The position is open following the transition of SAAC’s current Program Director, Jay Shanle, who has accepted a new role with Downtown Springfield Inc. (DSI). Through DSI, he will continue to collaborate with SAAC as a partner on the Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series, ensuring continued success of the 2026 season.

“This position has already had a meaningful impact on our work and on the community we serve,” said Bella Szabo, Executive Director of SAAC. “We are looking for someone who is committed to making the arts accessible and vibrant in our community.”

SAAC is seeking candidates with experience in event planning, fundraising, and community engagement, as well as a passion for visual, literary, and performing arts. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled. To learn more and apply, visit the website.
