New Members

One of Springfield’s seasonal traditions, the Edwards Place Fine Art Fair presented by Qik n Ez/Chronister Oil, is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st. The lawn of Historic Edwards Place at the Springfield Art Association will be filled with artists’ booths brimming with original works of art in a variety of media. In addition, live music will be performed by local groups throughout both days, FREE self-guided tours of Edwards Place, food vendors, art demonstrations, games and crafts for kids, and a GIANT used book sale will be running throughout the fair. The event is FREE and open to the public. As always it is all about high-quality arts and crafts by artists from across the region. The fair will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 4 PM on Sunday on the campus of the SAA at 700 North 4th Street.

In addition to the wonderful artwork for sale and the free tours of Historic Edwards Place, the Raku patio will host our Make Truck with games and crafts for the kids, the M.G. Nelson Family Gallery will be open to view the Heritage Exposed exhibition, and the Used Book Sale will be in full swing in the Condell Studio. The Buffalo Hunt for children 10 and under and an Art Scavenger Hunt for students 10 to 18 years of age engage everyone in the fair. Your dog is welcome to enjoy fair while on a leash. This event has something for every member of the family.

Come, enjoy the outdoors, engage in the arts, and support the visual arts in Springfield. A list of participating artists and more information can be found at www.springfieldart.org/fine-art-fair.
