LLCC recruiting volunteer tutors for adult literacy and education
SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College is recruiting volunteer tutors to assist adults and English language learners in improving their skills in reading, writing, math and technology. Tutors are needed from each of the 15 Illinois counties served by the LLCC District. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old with reading and/or math abilities, but they do not need to have a teaching degree. SPRINGFIELD — Sixteen students from Lincoln Land Community College’s Agriculture Club recently competed at the 2025 National Professional Agriculture Student Conference (PAS) held in Sheridan, Wyo., March 17-20, with two teams placing first. The students earned the right to compete by winning or being the runner-up in the Illinois PAS contests held earlier this year. LLCC’s Professor Rebecca Miller named ITC Outstanding Distance Educator
SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College Psychology Professor Rebecca Miller has been named the Instructional Technology Council’s (ITC) 2025 Outstanding Distance Educator during the ITC annual conference held in Charleston, South Carolina, in early March.The Outstanding Distance Educator Award recognizes a single educator each year who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to online teaching, student engagement and the creative use of technology to enhance learning.Miller has taught LLCC online
