Springfield, IL—On Thursday, May 15th, 2025, Springfield Fire Department Chief Ed Canny had the honor of swearing in fourteen new firefighters at the Springfield Firefighter’s Lake Club. The fourteen firefighters graduated from the Springfield Fire Department’s Training Academy. The academy training includes, Emergency Medical Training, Basic Operations of Firefighting, and Advanced Emergency Medical Training.
