Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Administrator of the Central Office Payment Unit. Under direction, this position will plan, control, and coordinate the statewide operations of the Payment Determination & Reconciliation and Institution & Group Home/Board Warrant Units, providing oversight and direction to professional staff engaged in the maintenance of the payment system and auditing of agency claim vouchers. The position will provide input into long-range planning to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness and make recommendations for modification. Essential Functions
- Serves as Administrator of the Central Office Payment Unit
- Serves as working supervisor
- Implements policies and procedures for programs of oversight, reviewing and monitoring to ensure compliance with overall Departmental policies, procedures, and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
- Plans for and coordinates the effective utilization of assigned resources
- Directs and coordinates the preparation of monthly activity reports, as well as other administrative and operational reports
- Conducts and attends meetings as the supervisor’s designee, representing the division
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration
- Requires two years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of professional experience conducting business operations in a public or business organization
- 2 years of professional experience in a public or business organization utilizing the ability to develop and manage a supportive agency program
- 2 years of experience in a public or business organization utilizing effective organizational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills
- 2 years of professional experience in a public or business organization utilizing the ability to develop, install, and evaluate new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards
- 2 years of experience in a public or business organization utilizing computer skills, particularly in Excel, and a working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products (Outlook and Word)
