Sertoma Club of Springfield's participation in BGCCIL recent gala

The Sertoma Club of Springfield congratulates the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois (BGCCIL) on its successful fundraiser on October 10th, "Shine Bright like a Diamond." Significant funds were raised to support BGCCIL's programs, and a variety of community supporters, including the Sertoma Club, were on hand at the gala to celebrate the Boys and Girls' Clubs' accomplishments over the year. Sertoma has assisted BGCCIL throughout its history to meet its mission of "inspiring and enabling all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens." Over the years, Sertoma has provided institutional support to the BGCCIL, provided yearly gifts, donated land to the Boys and Girls Clubs for a camp at Lake Springfield, and recently provided a dock and kayak launch at the camp. And the BGCCIL supports Sertoma; CEO Tiffany Mathis Posey was on hand to celebrate Sertoma Club's 70th anniversary earlier this year. Sertoma Club President Diane Long recognized the special relationship between the two organizations and wished the BGCCIL every success in the coming year, 'Sertoma views the relationship as an investment in the community, and pledges its continuing support to the BGCCIL in the future.' --end--
