Sertoma Club of Springfield Supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois

Springfield, Illinois,-- The Sertoma Club of Springfield made a contribution of $2,500 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois this week to assist BGCCIL in maintaining its after-school programming at a variety of District 186 and other schools in the area. In addition, many Sertoma Club members made personal gifts of support. The funds will be matched by an anonymous donor in further support of the important program serving students and families in the Springfield area.

Sertoma Club President Diane Long said, "The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois are a long-time friend of the Sertoma Club and provide a variety of crucial programs for low-income youth and their families in the area. We encourage other Chamber members to contribute to this effort."

The Sertoma Club of Springfield celebrated its 75th year of service to the community last year, reminding Springfield that "Sertoma's first name is Service."
