Seminar 1: Managing Stress
Tuesday, March 16, 2021
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Lunch provided by Subway
Many of us have had the experience of feeling very stressed out and worried about a situation on one day, then calmer and more positive a day or two later. Assuming that the situation itself remains worrisome, the only thing that has changed is our perspective. Many factors impact our stress perspective on a day-to-day basis, both factors within and outside of our control. Keeping stress in perspective impacts every area of our professional life, from self-discipline to relationships. In this workshop, we examine ways that we lose our perspective on stress and worry in our lives, and develop ways of getting our perspective back on track. We develop stress management strategies based on three pillars of perspective: physical, mental, and social.
Seminar 2: Leadership, Management, & Authority
Tuesday, April 6, 2021
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Lunch provided by Subway
Everyone is a leader regardless of their position. Leadership is usually assumed to be positive, but unfortunately leadership can also be negative. In this seminar, we will discuss the four primary tasks of leadership and understand how they drive the critical organizational factor of employee engagement. Participants will leave with an understanding of the differences between leadership, management and authority. We will discuss leadership competencies that help improve a leader's situational awareness, discipline and courage, leading to increased employee engagement and motivation. Leaders at all levels looking to improve team dynamics, organizational culture, or employee morale should attend.
Seminar 3: Disagreeing Agreeably
Tuesday, April 27, 2021
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Lunch provided by Subway
The ability to address contentious situations is a challenging skill for most people. Rather than avoiding conflict, it should be embraced as an opportunity to learn, adapt and respect one another as you work toward an agreement.
Whenever you have two or more people, there's bound to be conflict. Disagreements are a natural and inevitable part of any work environment. It's when they go unresolved that tensions rise, energy is wasted and productivity suffers.
Disagreements can be leveraged to make better organizational decisions. This seminar offers insights into your own work style and communication "hot buttons". You will not only explore situations that challenge you most, you'll learn to manage your emotions and to express your opinions in a productive way that leads to acceptance and agreement.
